Q1. esp. sir I want to start my preparation for GMAT but I dont have any authentic source for that and I also have to do job so please guide me about that and share all the relevant information that u can. I’ll be very thankful to u thanking u
A1.There is a lot of material available online. KAPLAN, The Princeton Review , GMAT Prep(mba.com), Power prep etc are some of the good ones. But I suggest Kaplan is one of the Best. I suggest you do as many practice test from them as possible. For more information refer to http://www.thechopras.co.in/gmat.php . You can also join a coaching place, The Chopras Consultants is recommended.
Q2.I’ve posted before. I am too young for an MBA. I should wait for a year or two Now I am planning to apply for a business-related MS MSC or MA In the US or in UK My GPA is low Would a high GMAT help me compensate it? I dont think these schools require a GMAT.
A2. Yes a good GMAt score will definitely help. Besides scores, GPA, your SOPs, LORs, Resume and work experience also make a difference. I think you should concentrate on your positives and try for a good GMAT score. Refer to http://www.thechopras.co.in/Kaplan_home.php for details.
Q3.I have a Masters in Engineering, now, at 26, after working a couple of years I will likely be going to the University of Britsh Colmbia to do. a MSc in Finance (I got interested in it, when i took a derivatives course in grad school, and scored 750 on the GMAT). Also, the prof I have spoken to at the university is strongly encouraging me to do a PhD afterward…I might like to do so, the only thing really holding me back is my age, and the fact that a PhD takes 5 years (seems sort of ridiculus) . Anyone have any advice on doing a PhD? If you get a PhD from a top 5 university how hard is it to get a good academic position (not at a community college or equivalent)? Are there any other positions PhD’s regularly get? I assume the situation for Canada and the USA would be similar. How much do starting profs get paid in canada and the US?
A3.Go for MS- PhD program as it is easier to get admission and financial aid this way. If along the way you dont want to do a PhD, you can always drop out after completing the MS program. PhD’s can start their tenure as Assistant Professors and go on from there. Research options at top companies are also available. Refer to http://www.thechopras.co.in/Global.php for more info
Q4.proud Join Date: Dec 2006 Posts: 4 horazmli just joined TestMagic. Question gmat score Hi everybody. Has anyone know if an University can ask score of mine from Pearson Vue itself, if I send only scan copy of my gmat certificate to the University (this University does not have institutional code)?
A4.The format is that you must send your scores to the colleges by asking Pearson to do so, by paying them a fee. You can not send your scores directly, colleges wont accept it. For details refer to http://www.thechopras.co.in/university_visit1.php?compid=947&name=Delhi&flag=univ
Q5.Hello All,My brother has written his GRE this month and scored 1100. I have absolutely no idea whether it is good score or not as I have not taken GRE,Can someone please let me know if this is a good score and what universities can he apply…I want him to be with my sister in BayArea,California. Please give me a list of universities that he might get an admission from. He has around 70% in BTech. He wants to apply for Computer Science Engineering. Please help Thanks,
A5..Its an OK score and with good academic record, SOP, LORs etc he should manage to get in a few good colleges in the BAY area. For a list you can refer to http://www.thechopras.co.in/gre.php
Q6..Hi,I am new to this site. I am planning to give GMAT in the next 4 months. Can you suggest a good book for GMAT for preparation especially maths. There are many versions of Princeton as well as kaplan. Which to choose? Also is there any website where I can give mock GMAT tests where the charge is not very high.
A6. Both are good. You can get an idea of the Kaplan material at http://www.thechopras.co.in/Kaplan_home.php – and GMAt tests are also availale at http://www.manyagroup.com
Q7.GMAT on 28 Aug – please advise .. Friends, I have scheduled my GMAT for the 2nd attempt on 28th Aug. With exactly a month to go, I have started to take full length practise tests. But I am not performing good and need your advise.I would appreciate if you can spare sometime to read the below. A week ago – Manhattan GMAT test 1 – 550 (V-31;Q-32 pathetic) Today – Manhattan GMAT test 2 – 620 (V-33,Q-42) Today’s test experience : Quans – It was really tough , I would say way beyond the GMAT standars by all means. It took me 44 min. for the 1st 15 qns. with just 12/15 correct in it. Verbal – RC was the spoiler (just 3/12 correct); SCs and CRs were of moderate difficulty level.Infact RCs were also not tough, but I screwed it up. Advise / suggesstions needed for Verbal: 1.With just a month to go for the test, can some one pls. let me know of any successful RC strategies ? 2.I follow the below verbal time split. Qns 1 – 15 : 30 – 31 min. Qns 16 – 30 : 28 min. Qns 31 – 41 : 16 min. Can some one please let me know if any other better strategy could be followed.I am aiming for a good hit rate in the 1st 30 qns. 3.Also the last RC falls between 31 – 41 qns. and I really lose the contest here. I just glance the RC for less than a min. and answer the qns. Most of the time I get 4/4 wrong – . Any better strategy could be followed for the last 11 ques. ? As far as quans. is concerned, I think I need to practise a lot. For the next 1 month, I plan to use the following resources for preps.: 1.OG 11 2.GMAT ETS paper tests 3.GMAT Sets(to gauge my verbal performance) 4.1000 RC for Verbal 5.Last but not least TM forum Please provide your suggestions. With some poor performances so far, I need to really work out some success strategies. Please advise. Thanks for showing patience to read this message, Arun B
A7. Hello, i suggest you have a look at http://www.thechopras.co.in . Do as many practice tests. Thats the way to go.
Q8.Hi All, Can anyone let me know if the 4 full length tests provided by Princeton CD is close to the usual GMAT exam? Do we get as many probability questions? I found one test difficult and scored less. Wanted to do a dip stick analysis.
A8. Hello, there are plenty of options in CS besides being a coder. I suggest you have a look at http://www.thechopras.co.in/university_visit1.php?compid=947&name=Delhi&flag=univ US is the best in terms of placement and quality followed by UK, Australia and NZ
Q9.hi puys… i hv given my final yr. engg exams and am awaiting for the results…i hd given CAT and got 97.5%ile……..CET was nt much diff wid 97.7%ile…its a diff story tht i didnt manage to get into the colleges tht i wanted..nw i hv got break till 11th oct which is when my job starts…i m thinking of giving GMAT in these two months so tht i can apply after two years…i hv a few doubts: 1. if i get rejected frm an institute on my gmat score, say due to low/no work ex, then can i again re-apply to the same insti wid the same gmat score after 1-2yrs (within the 5yr timeframe)? 2. if i giv gmat twice, then wud the best score be considered or wud the scores be averaged? 3. is 1 1/2 months enough for gmat prep considering i m at home the entire day…? plz..sumone guide me plz
A9.Hey, yes you can apply as GMAT scores are valid for 5 years. Scores for GMAT are usualy averaged. It depends on you, how much you know and what is your potential. You should decide on your own. I would say you join a coaching because it will help to be in an environment where everyone has a common goal. I suggest you join The Princeton review, they have good coaching institutes all over India. Please refer to http://www.thechopras.co.in/gmat.php
Q10..Hi ,I am working in a top IT MNC in Bangalore for the last 3 years after my graduation in BTech computer science. I am planning for an international MBA from US, either for a general one or specialisation in Systems.I have taken my GMAT with a score of 600. Can you tel me whether it’s enough to apply for the top 35-45 ranked universities for 2008 fall ? Or should I retake GMAT ?

Global Education Interact (GEI) is more than an Education Fair. It is an event where Universities and Education Institutions from many countries come to meet specifically with pre-qualified and serious student applicants to their courses, Institution, and country. The major thrust is to meet students interested in gaining admission into the current or latest up-coming intakes though in some circumstances University delegates will talk to students for the following year’s intakes. The GEI is an Exhibition with a difference. The term GEI was coined by ”The Chopras”. It defines the nature of the event and is copyrighted as a Brand. The choice menu available to Indian students today is huge. Universities and Institutions from all over the world are actively seeking Indian students; including from the U.S.A., U.K., Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Singapore, Switzerland, Italy, Europe, Malaysia, and others. It is well known that most Indian students and parents are seldom focused on one single country as their choice. Besides there are always visa issues; so for instance if a visa for a country is refused, they look at creating fall back options to other Countries and Universities or Institutions. Up until now, students and parents have had to visit many single country Education Fairs such as those held by U.K., Australia, New Zealand, U.S.A, Ireland, and other countries. Each has dozens of Universities who set up stalls; each of them have a good story to tell and lots of options to woo students; but almost always, due to the crowds, none have the time to have detailed conversations with students to assess the best options for them given their goals, Career Plans, academic or financial constraints, if any, and so on. The Global Education Interact changes all that; and in the time honored tradition of ”The Chopras”; benchmarked how Education Fairs should be run from the very first one held in OCTOBER-NOVEMBER 2009. At the GEI, students and parents, get the opportunity to meet with Institutions from different countries that form their “choice matrix”; all under one roof. GEI students have either met with highly trained ”The chopras” Counselors at their offices and have had detailed discussion on the suitability of which Country, Course, Institution etc.; and have completed applications for the Institutions of their choice or; if they are coming for the first time at the GEI venue, they are met by the same Counselors, have detailed discussions, clarify their issues, complete their application forms, and then meet with the Admissions teams of the Institutions of their choice. This ensures that neither the student nor the Institution’s delegates are wasting their time; and the job gets done; at ”The chopras” the job always gets done! The GEI is an exciting event where lots of seminars are held on all possible matters related to the exercise of planning and executing your further education within a Global framework. The choices are immense, the opportunities abound, but each student and his goals, ambitions, academic achievement, financial parameters are different. This merits serious thinking in a lateral framework. ”The Chopras” staff are trained to brainstorm with you on research you have already done, give you inputs you may not have considered, that ensure that you make the right choice for the right course at the right Institution and in the right country!
! 1. The students come with the documents, this way we are ensuring that the delegates meet serious students.
2. The students and parents who come without documents attend a seminar and get complete information on all the countries and the courses and various options they have.
3. This is a conversion event wherein the students who are able to go the next session is the main target. We also meet students who are looking at the future intakes but the focus is on the current intake.
4. Students are also able to meet the alumnis so that they can talk to them about their queries and doubts.

The best advantage with Irish education is that it’s twice the value at half the cost. Also, Ireland can be your gateway to Europe.
Ireland has a very strong education tradition, and the Irish are by nature very strong, dynamic people. Although a small population, the Irish are spread all over the world and have carried their strong family values with them. The education system is similar to that of Britain. Contrary to popular belief, Ireland has been an outsourcing hub for the USA for quite a few years.
Ireland’s appeal is not limited to its established institutions and multiculturalism. People travel from all across the UK to be a part of the buzzing nightlife at the many pubs and bars in Dublin as well as other major cities of Ireland. Golfers paradise, one can take part in a variety of water sports as well. All this in a backdrop of festivals such as the Jazz festival, Re Joyce Festival, National hunt, Spring festival, and so on throughout the year make Ireland a fun and exciting place to be.
Ireland is an increasingly popular destination for students from all over the world. Ireland, at present, has the highest economic growth rate in EU. In recent years Ireland has become a global centre for the banking, telecommunications, pharmaceutical and software industries. The combination of state of the art telecommunications infrastructure, a quality of life that is second to none and a well-educated workplace has attracted many international companies to make Ireland the headquarters of their European operations. Much of Ireland’s recent economic success can be attributed to the educational system.
Ireland at the start of the 21st Century is an exciting place to be. The country is poised to benefit from the advantages of the digital revolution, yet proud and protective of its ancient culture. Richness of culture, breathtaking scenery, and friendly people make it an ideal study destination.

Singapore has, for some time, been a very popular Tourist Destination but now it is also recognized as a hub for quality education.
In today’s world of fierce competition a lot depends on the qualification or specialization which a student adds on after school so that the CV becomes more attractive to potential employers not only in India but also in other parts of the world.. Also, added knowledge in business specialization adds to the performance delivery in a job.
So, it’s a smart choice from the point of view of preparing well for a good career.
There are several other advantages in Singapore Education like low costs, International degrees from Australian and UK Universities which recommend the destination to Indian Students and their parents. Being close to home the students and their parents can meet easily and often.
Normally, students in India face a crisis after finishing school especially if they are unfortunate to score low in the 10th and 12th. University admissions are governed by high cut-offs and the competitive exams see a very high number of applicants as compared to the number of seats finally available. This situation is a source of great anxiety to parents who would like to start their wards off on a lucrative career path.
source: FPR
There are private institutions mushrooming everywhere in India to cater for this gap but their delivery of course and result is yet to be fully tested. Also, some of them charge very high fees the equivalent of which can secure a diploma or degree from a well reputed International Institution in Singapore.
Hope and good cheer are at hand for all such anxious student. Starting from a 10th pass there are foundation courses leading as a pathway to Courses in Business, Hospitality, Accounting etc which have a lot of bearing on the future of the child.
These may not be possible achievements in the Indian scenario but going to Singapore they are realistic dreams
Institutions like Curtin , EASB, SIM,MDIS have several intakes through out the year and students currently in the 10th ,11th or 12th are advised to look at the possibilities and take action now instead of waiting for the results of their respective classes which by any standard of measurement are very unpredictable.
